I Need Yarn.

I have been having the urge to knit sweaters.  Everyone knows I don't have much of a stash, but I really don't have any sweater yarn stash!  I need to figure out what sweater to knit....  I can't choose!!!  Any suggestions?

I also had a birthday on Saturday.  I turned 29.  I got Knitting Without Tears by Elizabeth Zimmerman!!!  I was so excited.  My husband got me the biggest, sweetest gift of all.  He gave me his mom's wedding ring.

Not much of a post today, but I am at a knitting stand-still.

Happy Birthday! What a wonderful present. My MIL gave me her mother's wedding ring years ago, and I still cherish it.

My first sweater was Meg Swansen's Spiral Yoke Sweater - the two color version adapted to adult size. It was MUCH easier than it looks, fits beautifully (used EZ's EPS) and I love it. I used Ultra Alpaca yarn in denim and a lighter blue for the spiral yoke.

happy belated birthday!

Right now, I'm knitting the Feather and Fan Cardigan in KnitPicks CotLin. It's good, although I'm having a tough time with it since I am a less advanced knitter than I thought I was... hah...

Wow, what a neat gift.

I too have been having the urge to make sweaters. But I live in Southern California and this is not the time of year to want to make a sweater (though we do get some good sweater weather in the winter)

I started making the Wallis Cardigan in the recommended yarn. Its a very nice bamboo/soy blend. Hopefully this will keep me from wanting to CO a sweater before fall.

Happy birthday!!!! How wonderful to have your MILs wedding ring - I love family heirlooms like that.

Sorry, but I don't have any sweater knitting suggestions for you. I'm still trying to figure out what patterns and yarns to try myself.

That's so sweet about the ring. He's a keeper! :-) Hmm. Sweater patterns. I think you should find a top down raglan so you can avoid seaming and try it on while you're knitting it. I'm not positive, but you can probably find a free one. The xylem sweater I made was free and you can modify it to have longer sleeves. Can't wait to see what you're making!
